Striking Assignment 1

So, funny story. Apparently I reserved a spot in the second cycle of Striking, done by Pringle, and I totally don't remember reserving that spot! I was shocked when Pringle asked me if I still wanted my reserve. Raaanndddomm. Anyway so for our first assignment, we had to make a portfolio collage thing. I decided to mine a little different:

Temperature Assignment 1

For this first assignment, we had to create something magical. With my new found obsession with pegasus' and phoenix's, I immediately wanted to do one of these. But, I already did a pegasus picture for Superior Modeling so I decided to take on a phoenix. My model's name is Marina Styles. I spent a good few hours doing my entry and this is what I came up with:

Hot Shot Assignment 1

For this first assignment, we had a lesson plan and then had to incorporate the lesson into creating a head shot. With this competition, our models are shape shifters and have an animal that they turn into. My model for this comp is Hayden Bouchette and her animal is a phoenix. This was my entry:

Eliminated =(

I have only ever been eliminated from a competition once and that was because I blew the assignment. I wasn't happy with how the competition was being run, and I sensed some serious favoritism between the host and a group of my fellow competitors and I was just not happy with that, so I didn't try very hard on my assignment in hopes that I would be eliminated.

But now, I've been eliminated for the second time since I started competing in these competitions from a competition that I actually tried extremely hard in - Dark Shadowz. The post I made right before this shows you guys my latest and my last assignment entry for that competition. I spent literally hours getting it done and I got eliminated. I came in third place, though. But still. It sucks =(

Getting eliminated is not a great feeling. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Dark Shadowz Assignment 6

Just finished one of the loonngggesst assignments I've had to do yet. I spent a good six hours on it...maybe even more >.<

For this assignment, we had to put our models into film. Our models are evil and therefore, the genre of the film is supposed to be horror. There were three parts to this: DVD cover, back of the DVD, and a movie poster depicting a scene from the movie. My model is named Aryu Demonian and she is a fallen faerie. She lived in Teiran Forest, which is a place filled with magical creatures that protect the human race. These creatures are anything from elves to faeries to angels or genies. Aryu was born with an affinity for 4 out of the 5 elements. The only affinity she doesn't possess is the affinity for Earth. Aryu was made fun of growing up and just had enough of it. So she left the forest. When you leave Teiran Forest, you begin to change into something evil. Here's my entry:

I hope you all like it. I know that I am pretty proud of it, considering I am totally sick and lacking any inspiration / creativity lately.

Complainers -- Uggghhh

Hello to all.

So I posted this entry on my blog on the sims 3 website, but I feel angry enough about it to post it twice :

Here's muh rant for the day : I am so entirely sick of how overloaded the forums are. WITH THAT BEING SAID - I am so entirely sick of people making a billion and one threads about what they dislike about the sims 3. I have seen numorous threads where simmer's are comparing how crappy the sims 3 is to how "Awesome" the sims 2 was. God, instead of flooding the forums for those of us who actually enjoy their games, why not just simply (and silently) uninstall your stupid game and go back to the sims 2? Nobody needs to hear you whining and complaining. Like jeeze, I could easily post this blog entry on the forums and have people spontaneously posting comments on it to make myself feel better, but instead, I decided to NOT annoy the frequent forum users and post this on my blog instead. The forums are more for people who have problems and WANT solutions and to share your content with the rest of the simming world. I think more than half of the frequent forum users can back me up when I say "WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR COMPLAINING ANYMORE!" It's a very simple solution. You don't like the sims 3? Quit playing it. You don't think that the next EP is going to be good? Don't buy it. Get it? Got it. Good.

Srsly, people. I am someone who uses the forums on a daily basis. I would rather help people with their problems and post entries for the contests that I'm in...not have to scroll through pages and pages of people complaining their heads off about something that really nobody cares about. I'm not going to name any names, as I'm not one to point fingers (usually), but to those of you who can't control yourselves : GROW THE EFF UP! If I was pissed off at my game enough, I'd quit. End of story.

Thanks for reading.

Fast Lane

I bought Fast Lane about a week and a half before I actually installed it. Throughout the forums, I kept reading about all of the problems that installing Fast Lane caused and I was scared that it would wreck my game. At first, it did. I couldn't play any households that I already had in my neighbourhood. Everytime I loaded a household, I couldn't control my sims. It was like I was in camera mode all the time. It took me to move in a brand new household in order to get past this bug, as if everything was locked up. But once I finally got to control my sims, I found that I actually really enjoy this SP. I'm a car lover and I really only do modeling on the game, so the cars and the garage clutter are very ideal for me. The hairs are awful, and the dresses are alright. I love the shoes for women, though. I think EA did good with that one.

I will be doing a full review of the SP in the first issue of Flux Magazine. Just thought I'd share my initial thoughts about this pack on here. I know there are quite a few people out there who are unsure if they want this pack. I would recommend it to those of you who like cars and clutter, because that's really all this SP is good for.

Earlier Work

Here are some of my photos that I did waayy back when I first started editing. You can see a huge difference from these photos to my more recent photos. The only way to get better at anything is by PRACTISING =D

This was my first ever photo edit. As you can see, I didn't haveo do much editing.

** Flux Studios is basically like my copyright name. If you see any photos with this saying on it, it's done by me.

More About Me

A little more about the Beth behind the user name :

I'm 18 years old and am a proud Canadian. I am a loyal forum follower and have met a ton of very interesting people just by simply joining modeling competitions! I have quite a vast list of things that I am involved in:

- I write a story called Never Say Forever. It's a drama based on two main characters named Kaleah Morgan and Sam Fairchild. Kaleah is a girl from a small town who moved to Sunset Valley on a 6 month rental agreement for an art class she was supposed to take. Her mother set up her roommate and Kaleah moved to Sunset Valley thinking she was rooming with a woman named Samantha. Little did they know that "Samantha" was actually a boy named Samson. Together, the two of them are a mess. They fight constantly and go through the most dramatic events. They love each other, but their timing is never right and something always keeps them apart. Will they ever  get the chance to be together? Or are they forever destined to never to be?

- I am working on a new project called Flux Magazine. It's going to be a magazine based on every aspect of the game, but mostly modeling / fashion. I have put together an amazingly talented team and together, we are working to create what we hope will be a complete success!

- I am apart of many different contests. I judge, I host my own, and I compete as a contestant. I have won quite a few of these contests and find them extremely entertaining and, for the most part, a learning experience. I have only ever improved my editing skills from contests and I will be sharing most of my photo edits on this blog.

As for my other interests, I am a very creative person. I LOVE to write. I have a couple novels under my name (in the process of getting published). I love to draw, I love photography, I love reading, I love singing, and I love acting. I am a huge fan of out-there hairstyles and tattoos. My style is very different and varies from day to day. Some days, I wake up and decide I want to wear a pretty sun dress and high heels. On other days, I wake up and want to wear ripped jeans and a baggy top. I don't have any real definition to who I am, but I love who I am =D I know that's probably the most corny thing you'll ever hear, but oh well. I love corny.

Anyways, I hope this let you guys get to know me a tad bit better.

First Post

Hey guys!

I was running a blog called happysimmer.yolasite.com and I decided that I wanted to move to a more...simple...blogging website. Basically, my blog is for me to promote my story and share my photos. I'm not expecting a ton of followers, since I'm not the greatest person on the earth or anything (although, I sometimes beg to differ) but I hope I get a few loyal readers =)

There are a few things I do using the sims. One of them is my story called Never Say Forever. You can find the links to the chapters on the right side of this page. Another thing I do using the sims is competing, hosting, and judging modeling competitions. I added a list of useful editing tutorials found on the sims3 forums on the right side of this page. Enjoy =D
